The POLITIK paywall is maintained by Piano/Tinypass (in New York) and questions about log ins, passwords and cancellations can all bu answered on their site.
POLITIK is the only New Zealand news website devoted exclusively to independent political journalism that is updated daily. POLITIK breaks stories and offers insights you won’t find anywhere else.
What do I get for my subscription?
You get full access to the site and its entire archive. And each weekday morning you get the POLITIKToday email with coverage of the main news stories plus the kind of insider information you have to wait a week to get from newsletters like “Trans Tasman” .
How many devices can I use my login on
You can use your login on up to five devices -- PC, laptop, tablet, phone etc
How do I subscribe?
After you have read three POLITIK stories a curtain will come down inviting you to subscribe. Just follow the steps there.
How much are subscriptions?
All subscriptions start with a free month long trial then it is $15.99 (Incl GST) per month or $169 (incl GST) for a year.
How do I log on
Once you've completed the purchase process, the page you were on should automatically reload to show you the content that you've paid for. At that point, you're logged in to Tinypass and your subscription is valid, so you're done! If you return to the site and it's still asking you to pay, please click on the "Already purchased" or "Sign in" link and log in with your Tinypass account. If you are still having trouble please visit: https://dashboard.tinypass.com/login and log into your account. You should see a library of the content you have purchased. Simply click on the logo to view a "Open" link to your content.
My login is not working
The simplest way is to go to login; click the individual button and insert your email address in the form. Don't bother filling in the password by instead, click "I forgot my log in". That will trigger an email to you which will enable you to reset your password.
How do I change my email
First, log in to your account at http://dashboard.piano.io.
Second, click the icon in the top right corner and select “Account Settings.
Third, replace your old email address with the new one. You can also set a new password from here.
Finally, click “Save.” It’s that simple.
My IPhone, IPad or Apple Mac requires me to enter my log in details every time I visit POLITIK
There’s a simple solution. You need to enable cookies. The best way to do that is:

Who handles your subs?
Our subscription management company, TinyPass, is based in the US. Their clients include Time, NewsCorp, CNBC and Slate. They have a proven robust payment platform and they have high standards of integrity to manage your money.
Why is there a US dollar amount next to the subscription price?
That’s because TinyPass are are based in New York. They have to convert the subscription you have paid into USD dollars before they can bank it. Then they pay us back in New Zealand dollars.
Do I have to pay currency conversion fees?
Regrettably, yes. Your credit card company will charge you a small fee for making the conversion to $US.
How is my subscription renewed?
Each month you should receive a renewal email and unless you cancel your subscription will automatically renew.
How can I cancel
If you need to cancel a subscription, just head to https://dashboard.tinypass.com/ and log in with your Tinypass account (email + password). Under Active, you will see an icon for each of your currently active subscriptions. Click on the icon for the subscription you would like to cancel, choose the Subscription tab and then "Don't bill me again." You should get an email confirmation almost immediately.
Can I share my subscription?
No. Each subscription is for one individual only.
